Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community offered its support for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
