Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Accolades.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.
The 27-year-old won four titles – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.
A Season of Consistency
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka competed in a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 win-loss record, and earned a record eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.
She earned almost 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.
On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".

- Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, was voted after taking a extended hiatus after the arrival of her first child and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
- Newcomer of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko was honored with the award after beginning the season positioned outside the world's top 300 and climbing to world number 18.
- Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after securing their second Grand Slam title as a pair.
- Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after making five championship matches.
Recently, Carlos Alcaraz secured three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was voted the fan favorite for a third time.
